Copper Canyon Academy
Equestrian Therapy

Copper Canyon Academy offers a full program of Equestrian Therapy, also known as Equine Assisted or Animal Assisted Therapy. This program is especially valuable to younger students, students who have a history of not responding well to traditional therapy, and to students with attachment/bonding issues. The Equine Therapy program is included in your daughter's tuition and is offered in addition to the existing individual and group therapy.

Middle School

In addition to a fully accredited high school, Copper Canyon Academy operates a fully accredited middle school serving girls in grades 7 and 8. Copper Canyon's middle school is based on the Stages of Change model with an emphasis on skill-building, mentorship, and group process.  Students focus on coping skills, problem-solving, social competence, personal responsibility, and family relationships.

In this nurturing, family-like setting, students receive highly individualized classroom instruction and learning support with a focus on becoming lifelong learners. Because Copper Canyon also operates an accredited high school, selected middle school students will have the unique opportunity to get a head start on earning high school credits in disciplines such as mathematics and foreign language.

CCA students have access to a team of specialized clinicians including a consulting psychiatrist, nutrition specialist, and learning specialist. Middle school students participate in advanced EAGALA equine therapy, riding lessons, a wellness program, visual and performing arts, and recreational athletics. Specialized family workshops focus on the reintegration of family.
