In the preparation stage, your daughter will have made a commitment to change. Her motivation is reflected in what you hear her say, such as: “I’ve got to do something about this - this is serious. Something has to change. What can I do?”
Your daughter should now be taking small steps toward change. She will be gathering information about what she will need to do to change her behavior.
Students often try to skip this stage and move directly from contemplation into action. Because they haven’t adequately prepared to make these major changes, this effort may not be successful.
