What the Studies Say About Copper Canyon Academy's Effectiveness!

Copper Canyon Academy is accredited by CITA (Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation).

I don’t know what we would have done without the Copper Canyon program. My husband and I didn’t know what else to do to help our daughter. She was just 14 years old, expelled from high school in her freshman year, and hanging around the wrong crowd, including drug use. We tried all avenues of help that were available through our local community, state and federal government, and health care programs. But what little help was available, was ineffective. As a last resort we enlisted a consultant, who recommended a short-term wilderness program and Copper Canyon Academy.
Our daughter spent a year at Copper Canyon, and with the therapy, encouragement, and academic support, she was able to come back to our home. She learned so much that she still carries with her today. And as a family, we learned to get along better, and resolve our family conflicts in a more functional way. We also met other families in the same situation as ours, so that we had not only the support of the school, but were put in touch with other families to form support groups, realizing that we were not alone. Many seminars were held on the school campus for parents of students, and though it was far for us to travel, we made it a priority to put our family back together.
Copper Canyon was different from other schools that we had heard of. As parents, we like that Copper Canyon was an all girls school, because it eliminated the interaction with boys, so our dauhter could work on communication, her relationships, and focus on boundary setting and confronting her drug problem. She was able to excel at her academics and participate in community service. She formed healthy friendships with the other girls, and learned new ways to deal with situations.
